Large white-faced darter

The habitat for the large white-faced darter consists of fairly shallow, clear and sheltered water. The riparian vegetation is well developed with reeds or sedges, with only some scattered floating aquatic plants on the water. At the transition from water to land, quaking rafts and are present. The species occurs both in low moorland bogs in heathland and in peat bogs with alkaline seepage.
